Miyo the Serene

As far as factory bosses go Miyo is one of the most unusual ones ever to exist. Not because of their attitude towards their workers or anything like that in fact they fall in line much like the rest of their ilk, profit for the sake of everything else. No Miyo is unusual because they are a living sentient ooze. The tale of their takeover of the sewage processing plant is some of the most unusual circumstances of the accession of one on the bottom rung of society to it's very heights that Arbor has ever seen. Nonetheless Miyo is one of the most trusted and well regarded arbiters of the Factory bosses as they seem to be able to remain neutral in almost all aspects. As said before they are in charge of the sewage processing for Arbor though the exact specifics of how that works is slightly unusual. Miyo then is one of the few bosses who understands their product and it's results better than any other boss out there as in a way they are the result.
"Miyo's appearance is almost ethereal, with their transparent face and liquid-like body. But don't let that fool you - they're just as callous as the rest of them. They don't care about the well-being of their workers, only about maximizing profits. It's unsettling to see such a beautiful, otherworldly creature be so cold and ruthless." -Worker for Sewage processing

Appearance

As a living ooze, Miyo's appearance is amorphous and fluid, taking on different shapes and forms. However, Miyo attempts to appear as human as possible, giving themselves the semblance of a face and body by forming a transparent liquid into a human-like shape. However, Miyo lacks eyes or any of the organs required to fully replicate a human face, so their appearance may be unsettling or unsettling to some. Overall, Miyo's appearance may be described as a transparent, human-like face made of liquid, with appendages and a body that approximates a medium sized person though with a slight doughy appearance.

Personality

Miyo is described as a cold, calculating, and ruthless factory boss with a particular hatred for their own species. They seem to delight in carving up oozes into smaller pieces for use in sewage processing, showing no remorse for effectively butchering their own species when asked about this Miyo simply states that they are not like they are and they are merely stomachs that move with no free will of their own. No matter the situation though Miyo maintains a level of serenity that can be unnerving for those not used to it.

Background

No one is exactly sure where or when Miyo was born/created but the story of Lord Jeremy is their first recorded appearance in the annals of Arbor's history.

Lord Jeremy

It was a typical day in the city of Arbor, and the wealthy and influential members of high society were going about their business as usual. Among them was a prominent merchant named Lord Jeremy, who lived in a grand estate on the edge of the city.   One day, as he sat in his luxurious bathroom, enjoying a hot soak in the tub, he heard a loud gurgling sound coming from the toilet. Suddenly, the water in the toilet bowl began to rise, and before he knew it, a massive ooze emerged from the pipes, filling the bathroom and engulfing Lord Jeremy's son, who had been playing in the room.   The ooze was massive and seemed to have a life of its own, writhing and pulsating as it consumed the boy. Lord Jeremy watched in horror as his son was devoured by the slime, unable to do anything to save him.   The incident was a tragedy that shocked the entire city and sent shockwaves through high society. Lord Jeremy was devastated by the loss of his son and was consumed by grief and guilt. He knew that his greed and disregard for safety had caused the disaster, and he vowed to make amends for his mistakes.   It was in the aftermath of this tragedy that Miyo the Serene appeared, offering a solution to the sewage problem that had plagued the city for so long. Lord Jeremy was desperate for a way to atone for his actions and prevent any more tragedies from occurring, so he eagerly accepted Miyo's offer and helped to implement the new system of sewage processing that is now in place.

Sewage Processing Specifics

In Arbor, sewage processing involves using slimes and oozes to consume and process the waste produced in the city. The slimes and oozes are attracted to the waste and consume it as it flows through the sewers, breaking it down into simpler compounds. Some of this waste is converted into energy, while the rest becomes part of the slimes' and oozes' bulk.   To maintain the sewage processing system, the slimes and oozes need to be regularly divided into smaller, more manageable pieces. This is typically done using the flow of water in the sewers to corral the largest slimes and oozes, which are then carved up into smaller pieces using specialized tools. This work is still incredibly dangerous as the oozes are highly acidic so many workers end up with burns, loss of limb or reduced vision after long exposure to the slimes. The smaller slimes and oozes are then used to create various products, such as glue, solvents, and other industrial compounds.   While the sewage processing system is effective at keeping the sewers flowing smoothly and processing waste, it has attracted criticism from some quarters. Some have raised concerns about the treatment of the slimes and oozes, arguing that they may be sentient beings that deserve more respect and care. Others have pointed out that the system is not sustainable in the long term, as it relies on constantly adding new slimes and oozes to the system, rather than finding a way to break down the waste without using living creatures.   Despite these concerns, the sewage processing system remains in place, thanks in large part to the efforts of Miyo the Serene and their team of skilled technicians. While they may not be popular with everyone, they are widely respected for their expertise and efficiency, and their work is essential to the functioning of the city.

Relationships

None though some individuals have wondered if Miyo even cares about anyone in that way.

Allegiance

Miyo has an agreement with the The Plague Rats as a non-interference pact, they help to corral many of the larger oozes to them in exchange for leaving their enclaves alone. In addition Miyo provides some of the end products to the Rats which may be a part of the drugs they produce.

Abilities

Shape-shifting: Oozes are known for their ability to take on different shapes and forms, and Miyo is able to use this ability to adapt to different situations and environments. For example, Miyo is able to squeeze through tight spaces or take on different forms to better fit into a particular role or situation.   Amorphousness: Oozes do not have a fixed shape or form, and Miyo is able to use this to their advantage. For example, they are able to slip through small openings or gaps that would be impassable to other beings, or change their shape to fit into tight spaces.   Healing: Oozes are capable of regenerating damaged or lost tissue, and Miyo is able to use this ability to quickly heal wounds or injuries. This could make them difficult to kill or defeat in battle.   Absorption: Oozes are capable of absorbing other substances into their mass, and Miyo is able to use this ability to absorb and incorporate new materials or substances into their body. This could allow them to gain new abilities or powers, or simply make them more resilient or adaptable.   Poison production: Some oozes are capable of producing poison or other toxic substances, and Miyo has this ability as well. They are able to use this poison to defend themselves or incapacitate their enemies.   Telepathy: Miyo communicates via this method as their primary means of communication though can approximate normal speech though chooses to do so sparingly because it can be unsettling to hear.
