Littlefield
As families within Arbor go the Littlefields are one of the newest with any real power. Started officially by Gideon Zeke Littlefield when he established the The Black Hands. Despite every effort by Gideon the Old Families do not and will not extend a hand to him and his kin even as an honorary member. Gideon takes this as something of a slight on his character and in no small part it is very much one. Still with the invention of the rail system and the Littlefields utter monopoly on it they stand to amass a sizeable fortune in the coming years which in Arbor is no small feat. In addition with money comes extrodinary power and eventually the Old Families will be forced to ackowledge what the Littlefields have accomplished at least that's what Gideon hopes.
For those on the bottom the Littlefields represent just another boot on their throat and nothing more. They care little for the machinations of this social ladder climbing and only worry about putting food in their belly and keeping a roof over their head.
For many in the middle class the Littlefields are seen as a window into a world they think they can be a part of. Their existance along with a few others has created a myth that anyone can ascend to the heights of the world if they just work hard enough at it. The truth of course is that by their nature the rare exceptions are rare and most will simply be crushed under the wheel of progress.
For those in high society the littlefields represent an interloper a family who do not belog, and they take every opportunity to make sure the Littlefields feel small. Some might placate them or make promises of what might happen if they just do a bit more here or provide a favourable business deal there but they will never invite them into the inner circle and will always keep them at a distance.

Public Agenda:
In every public way the littlefields are attempting to be part of a group of people with which they do not belong. They go to all the right parties say all the right things but there is just something wrong about the status they are attempting to claw their way into. They are wealthy obscenly so and it should follow that they be allowed into the upper echelons but there is a stink of a seedy element about them. Their agenda then should come as no surprise they want to be part of the upper crust of the world and will do anything to ensure that they are.Public Perception

History:
The Littlefield family in terms of a family of importance only came onto the scene of Arbor a scant 40 years ago. Their existance and importance only relevant recently with the creation of The Black Hands company. However while their existance is a relatively short one in the overall history of Arbor their reach and influence cannot be understated. Much of the goods of Arbor ride around on trains owned by the family and in addition a large portion of the workforce of Arbor travel by train to and from work. In the age of steam then the Littlefields have expanded the network of trains to cover all of Arbor and at a personal level made deals or alliances with nearly every faction who cares to.Notable People:
