Great Tree Amber

Exceptionaly rare in the world of Arbor is amber of the Great Tree. Composed of Great Tree Sap that has hardened over decades or perhaps even centuries, it's magical properties are of legendary power and impact. It is unknown how long the process from sap to amber actually takes but new deposits are still occasionally discovered in deeper parts of the Great Sky Highway. What is true though is that the Amber is more valuable than any jewel found in the mines of the world and many covet it's power and ability to enhance magical effects and to provide a power source for new magical creations.

Appearance

Great Tree Amber is a remarkable gemstone, known for its striking appearance and enchanting properties. It is a vivid, red amber that glows with a warm, fiery intensity, reminiscent of the embers of a dying flame. Its surface is smooth and polished, with a glossy finish that shimmers and reflects the light in a mesmerizing way.
Upon closer inspection, one can see intricate patterns and veins running through the amber, like tiny rivers of molten lava frozen in time. These patterns seem to shift and dance as the light hits them from different angles, adding to the stone's mystique and charm.

History

Individual pieces of amber have been fought over for centuries the stones themselves being sources of incredible magical power they can be the source of much conflict in the world of Arbor. So it should come as no surprise that any who do own them keep their ownership a closely guarded secret lest some person attempt to steal it or otherwise remove it from their person. Much of the original deposits were confiscated by The Order of the Fallen Leaves after the Reconciliation publicly this was done to ensure that the stones did not fall into the wrong hands, however most saw this for the power grab that it was.

Discovery

Originally discovered in a large deposit near the center of the Great Tree called the Heart of Creation, this first deposit was left largely alone until a smaller deposit was found and harvested.

Usage

In small quantities the Amber has the power to take the place of any magical reagent that a spell might need, in larger quantities it is used as a catalyst for many magical items.
