These territories encompass hundreds of towns, hamlets, villages, and thorpes, requiring a substantial and versatile force. The Warcaller Legions are composed of 15,000 highly trained soldiers, including infantry, cavalry, archers, and siege engineers. Stationed at strategic forts and outposts across the region, they are the first responders to any threat, capable of swift and decisive action. Renowned for their discipline, tactical flexibility, and resilience, the Warcaller Legions are a formidable force in the harsh environment of Shadowmarch.
Composition
Manpower
The Warcaller Legions consist of approximately 15,000 soldiers. This force is divided into 30 cohorts, each led by a Centurion. Each cohort has about 500 legionaries, subdivided into centuries of 100 men led by an Optio. These centuries are further divided into squads of 10 soldiers, commanded by a Decanus. This hierarchy ensures effective command and control across the vast territories they protect. Additional support personnel, such as engineers, medics, and logistics officers, bring the total manpower to around 18,000 when including auxiliary units.
Equipment
The Warcaller Legions are equipped with reinforced chainmail, leather armor, and steel helms. They utilize advanced siege weapons like ballistae and trebuchets.
