The Order of the Thawing Flame

The Order of the Thawing Flame Beliefs and Goals: The Order of the Thawing Flame believes that the winter is a curse placed upon the land by a forgotten ice deity, angered by the neglect of its worship. The cult holds that by rekindling the ancient flames of worship and sacrifice, they can appease this wrathful deity and bring about the end of the winter. Their ultimate goal is to conduct a grand ritual that will melt the heart of the ice god and restore balance to the seasons.
Rituals and Practices: Members of the Order regularly gather in secret at ancient ruins and forgotten temples, where they light ceremonial fires that are never allowed to extinguish. They perform dances and chant incantations around these flames, each act intended to symbolically 'warm' the heart of the ice deity. The cult is also known for seeking out ancient relics and texts that contain old rites of worship and sacrifice, believing that these artifacts hold the key to their success.
Structure: The Order is led by a charismatic leader known as the Flamekeeper, who claims to have visions from the ice deity directing their actions. Below the Flamekeeper, a council of Elders oversees the recruitment and organization of rituals, while regular members are often tasked with gathering resources and spreading the cult’s influence discreetly.
