Session 26: Whispers of Botswanis
General Summary
After surviving the leviathan's fury and patching up The Siren's Embrace, the party made landfall on the shores of TonTon, the vibrant and wary island settlement nestled in the Isles of Krast.Upon arrival, Kolme, now increasingly attuned to the spiritual echoes left behind by Sirrai, followed a trail of dancing steps across the sand—steps that led her straight to a local treat: The Chilled Tide, a beloved ice cream shack run by a cheerful Triton named Kylo.
There, the party was introduced to the flavors of the island and given a moment of sweet respite before the weight of their journey returned.
Their next stop was the Leiika, the community clubhouse of TonTon, where they met Elder Serah, Sirrai’s grandmother. She sat surrounded by carved relics and worn mats, receiving gentle care from Barbaros, the missionary the party had sent ahead. The party broke the news of Sirrai’s passing with grace, and Serah—while grieved—offered wisdom and warmth. She spoke of an old tradition: ten years ago, ships that failed to pay the toll of treasure to the ocean’s guardian—the Hungering Deep, known locally as Botswanis—were mysteriously lost beneath the waves.
With the past fresh on their minds, the party made their way to the village’s central temple to meet Chief Ara’ka. As they stepped into the sacred hall, a sudden blaze of divine light erupted.
Keyes’ divine guardian charm shattered in an instant—cracked open by divine authority—and in its place stood the radiant figure of Minerva, celestial and furious.
The air grew thick with tension as the party faced down not only the island’s looming dangers, but a reckoning from a divine power long watching in silence…
