Session 23: Crashing waves and breaking hearts
Session 23 Report
Setting Sail and Unraveling Conversations
As the party continued their journey aboard The Siren’s Embrace, various conversations and encounters unfolded, revealing more about the party’s quirks, histories, and the ever-growing digital misfortunes of Najzad.
Najzad vs. The Hell Phone
Najzad found himself in digital peril after repeated searches for “not milfs” led to a slew of infernal viruses infecting his hell phone. Despite his cunning nature, it seemed the underworld’s internet was more ruthless than he had anticipated. Attempts to fix the phone were met with more pop-ups and cryptic messages that only deepened his frustration.
Nazjad & Corrin - Convince the captain of the Revenants Mark that they were just a standard seafaring vessel and they were warned to avoid the Russell
Mirella’s Confrontation and the Autumn Fae Confidence
Mirella, ever the direct and assertive captain, decided to address the awkwardness from her and Najzad’s initial "romantic" encounter. Uncomfortable with confrontation, Najzad did his best to deflect and charm his way out, though Mirella remained steadfast in her need for clarity. The conversation took an unexpected turn when Mirella, inspired by one of the fantasy smut books she had been reading—Velvet Chains of the Fae Court—compared the situation to the Autumn Fae Confidence, a concept where one walks away from an encounter with absolute grace and dignity. Whether Najzad successfully embraced this philosophy remained up for debate.
Vet, the Gossip Fish, Returns to the School
In an amusing and surprisingly heartfelt moment, the party’s informant fish, Vet the Gossip Fish, finally returned to her school. Having served her duty in spreading whispers across the high seas, she left with a flick of her tail and a farewell that might or might not have included even more gossip about the party’s antics.
Food and Family Bonds
Najzad, as always, had opinions on food and delighted in discussing his Korune Spiced Hare—a delicacy that involved raw hare, baby snake (okra), and a few ingredients that confused even the most seasoned of his companions. His love for this dish led to a deeper discussion on cultural differences and how certain foods were viewed in different regions.
Meanwhile, a conversation about family dynamics unfolded. Najzad made an offhand comment about Kolme’s understanding of family, bringing up Stephen, who according to Kolme’s logic, was a cousin, though most of her family (to her knowledge) was dead. The party continued the strange topic, playfully debating Kolme’s origins from The Lab while Najzad reflected on his own Nest, drawing comparisons between the two and their unusual upbringings.
Final Thoughts
As the ship sailed forward, the party found themselves entangled in odd discussions, growing closer through shared history, bizarre search histories, and questionable food choices. With The Siren’s Embrace cutting through the waves, new challenges awaited them, but for now, they embraced the quiet moments, if only to recover from the sheer absurdity of the day's conversations.
