Ara’ka
Personal History
Ara’ka, the current leader of the Anquara Tribe, is a revered elder known for his wisdom, patience, and unwavering devotion to the sea. Born under a crimson moon, the Anquara saw his birth as an omen of great responsibility. He was raised as a Tidecaller, a spiritual guide who communes with the ocean and interprets its will. His rise to leadership was marked by a trial of endurance, where he braved the deep currents to recover a sacred relic lost to the Hungering Deep.
As leader, Ara’ka serves as both a political and spiritual figure, presiding over the Council of Elders and ensuring that the balance between the tribe and the ocean remains undisturbed. He has guided his people through turbulent waters, including encroachments from outsiders, dwindling resources, and the ever-looming threat of the Hungering Deep's wrath. Though he respects tradition, he understands that change is inevitable, and he carefully weighs the benefits of trade with outsiders against the risks of losing their sacred ways.

Appearance & Attire
Ara’ka is an imposing figure despite his age, standing tall with a wiry but powerful frame hardened by years of life at sea. His deep bronze skin is etched with swirling tattoos that tell the story of his lineage and achievements. His eyes, a piercing shade of sea-green, seem to hold the weight of centuries of knowledge. His hair, once black, is now streaked with silver, woven with beads and tiny seashells as a symbol of his connection to the tides.
He wears flowing garments woven from sea silk, dyed in deep blues and greens, reflecting the ever-changing ocean. Around his neck, he carries a sacred talisman—a shark tooth encased in coral, gifted to him by the Council upon his ascension to leadership. His staff, carved from driftwood and capped with polished obsidian, serves as both a walking aid and a ceremonial tool for calling upon the spirits of the sea.
