Kaarg

Amidst the murky and treacherous expanse of the Kargathian Wetlands, where ancient ruins of a forgotten civilization lie as a testament to the passage of time, stands the revered orcish capital of Kaarg. A sacred place to the orcish clans, this settlement of huts and wooden buildings is built upon the weathered stones of the past, creating a unique blend of the present and the ancient. In Kaarg, the spirits of the old and the new intertwine, and the echoes of history reverberate through every structure and pathway. The city appears unassuming at first glance, its modest size housing around a thousand orcs, giving it an intimate and close-knit atmosphere. Yet, Kaarg holds an unparalleled significance in the hearts of the orcish people, for within its boundaries, they honor their past, their traditions, and their collective identity as one.   At the heart of Kaarg, the ruins of a once-great civilization lie sprawled, providing a sacred ground upon which the orcs build their homes. Ancient stone structures, marred by time, now serve as foundations for the newer constructions, as if the orcs are paying tribute to the spirits of their ancestors with every hammer strike and every nail driven.   Intricately carved totems and symbols, a testament to the orcish reverence for the natural world, adorn the city, telling stories of ancient battles, noble chieftains, and revered spirits. The orcs take great pride in their craftsmanship, meticulously sculpting each piece with their rough hands, reflecting their close connection to the earth and its primal forces.   One of the most hallowed places within Kaarg is the central plaza, a vast open space flanked by weathered stone pillars that reach towards the sky like the outstretched arms of giants. Here, the orcs gather during significant events, festivals, and ceremonies, as well as for council meetings where chieftains from various clans assemble to discuss matters that affect them all.   Blood rings, solemn and revered, stand as a stark contrast to the peacefulness of Kaarg's streets. These ritualistic gladiatorial pits, hidden away from the main thoroughfares, are the only places where bloodshed is allowed within the city. Orcish warriors test their mettle against one another, not in a quest for dominance but rather to demonstrate their prowess and loyalty to their clans and traditions.   During the momentous occasion of the passing of an orcish year, the great clans from all corners of the Kargathian Wetlands, and even those who have spread to distant lands like Bariatok, Kaelderen, and the Cythrian Empire, journey back to Kaarg to celebrate. The city comes alive with vibrant colors, resonating drum beats, and the thunderous chorus of orcish voices lifted in song and jubilation.   Fires dance and flicker, casting an ethereal glow upon the faces of the gathered clans, as they honor their ancestors and seek blessings for the future. The air is infused with the aroma of sizzling meat and the comforting scent of herbs, for the orcish people embrace the joys of feasting as a celebration of life itself.   In the shadows of the moonlit night, the spirits of the past are said to emerge from the ancient ruins, joining the revelry of their descendants. It is a night of unity, where old grudges are set aside, and kinship reigns supreme. Stories of courage, wisdom, and the forging of alliances echo through the gathered clans, fostering a renewed sense of orcish pride and determination.   As the sun rises on the following day, the orcish clans return to their respective lands, carrying with them the strength and unity forged in the heart of Kaarg. The city settles back into its peaceful slumber, but the memories of the grand celebration and the spirits of the past linger, forever etched into the souls of the orcish people.   In Kaarg, amid the ruins and beneath the stars, the orcish heart beats as one, a testament to their unyielding bond with the land, their ancestors, and each other. And though the cycles of time may pass, the spirit of Kaarg remains, an eternal flame that keeps the orcish identity alive and aflame in the ever-changing world of Aranath.
