Great Quarter

At the heart of the city lies the Great Quarter, the beating heart of commerce and culture in Al'nahar. Its central artery, a wide, open street of worn cobblestones, is never quiet. Carts laden with goods, vendors hawking their wares, and market stalls overflowing with colorful merchandise are competing with each other in a song of coins of joy. The air is thick with the mouthwatering aromas of street food, and the sounds of haggling, laughter, and music fill the streets.   The Great Quarter is home to a variety of inns and taverns, including numerous houses offering respite and refreshment to weary travelers and locals alike. Three of the city's most prominent temples are also located here, giant cigurates of clay reaching to the heavens. The ziggurat of the wind god, the largest and most awe-inspiring of the three is always surrounded by the smoke of sacrifical offerings.   Nestled amidst these grand temples is a much smaller ziggurat, the home of the adventurers guild. Once a beacon of hope amongst the common folk, the guild has fallen into disrepair, its former glory faded with time. The guild master, a retired adventurer, continues to uphold its traditions, but without a steady influx of new recruits, the guild's power and influence have waned. As the days turn into weeks, the guild master's task becomes increasingly daunting, and the future of the once proud guild hangs in the balance.
