Campaign Setting Book Recommendations

Please post any recommendations for the Campaign Setting Book here. What you like, what you don't like and similar comments are welcomed but what I am really looking for are recommendations for material you would like to see added to the book prior to publishing, or any edits you think might be worth making. When you provide recommendations for changes, make sure you provide a page number for the item and, as well, details about your recommendation. The more details the better.   When you provide recommendations for new content, again, the more details the better.   I won't promise to add, or change items, but I will sincerely consider anything you provide.

Page 14: Under optional magic rules for spell failure table: You do not address cantrips. Do cantrips risk spell failure also? If so what is the backfire damage?   Page 14: Under magic item instability: +1 weapons are uncommon magic items not common.

Good recommendations Nathan. I will add a comment that the spell failure is for level 1+ spells. As well, I will edit the example to show appropriate examples for the magic items. That helps a lot to ensure that when others read this something smile doesn’t discredit the other content trustworthiness.

Reading through it I noticed references in the early chapters to various towns and villages. I kept finding myself flipping to the end to learn about the town, then flipping back to where I was. Perhaps move Chapter 4 earlier in the book. At least if you're reading through it sequentially like I was you'd have an idea of a town's characteristics and location before reading about it's magical properties, for example.   Another thing I noticed in Chapter 6 (pages 39 and 40 specifically) is that the deities are imbalanced in my opinion. There are more Lawful deities than Chaotic and more Good than Evil. I think there's a missed opportunity to create some storylines. Earlier chapters mention shadows, mysterious orders, and fallen gods. Reading through it, personally, I want to create a character that explores the darker side of Aragoth's past. A shadowy figure that's bound to a Chaotic Evil god could be an intriguing twist to a party.

Those are both really good inputs and as I get all of this feedback collected here, I will take these each into consideration as I work on the second draft of this book. This is very helpful to know how it feels while you read it and how best to structure it.
