Erik’s Journey: From Arcane Aspirant to Council Mage
Week 1: A Grimoire of Power
Erik scoured the arcane markets of Isondale, seeking a tome befitting his growing mastery of magic. The search led him to a reclusive dealer of rare magical artifacts—an elderly gnome who claimed the book had once belonged to a long-forgotten archmage. After tense negotiations, Erik handed over an emerald worth 25,000 gold pieces and a flawless diamond valued at 5,000 gold pieces in exchange for the Arcane Grimoire +3. As he turned the heavy tome’s pages, arcane sigils glowed faintly, whispering secrets of spells yet to be mastered.
Weeks 2-5: Mastering the Craft of Tinkering
Realizing the importance of versatility, Erik committed himself to an exhaustive training regimen in the art of tinkering. For four relentless weeks, he worked in the forges of Isondale’s artisans, studying intricate mechanisms and mastering the delicate balance between arcane infusion and mechanical precision. The work was grueling, his fingers often stained with grease and soot, but Erik's intellect turned raw materials into marvels of function. At the end of the fifth week, he finally gained proficiency in Tinker’s Tools, a skill that would soon prove invaluable in his future endeavors.
Week 6: A Ship Among the Stars
With a growing thirst for adventure beyond the confines of Isondale, Erik sought a vessel worthy of his ambitions. His search led him to a seasoned spelljammer captain willing to part with a Space Galleon known as The Dirigible. The ship, an elegant fusion of wood and enchanted metal, promised boundless potential for travel beyond the skies. In exchange for this marvel, Erik offered two rubies, each worth 25,000 gold pieces, sealing his claim over the vessel. Standing on its deck, gazing at the shimmering runes lining its hull, he envisioned the adventures that awaited him among the stars.
Weeks 7-10: The Art of Influence
With wealth and power secured, Erik turned his sights toward influence. Over the next month, he immersed himself in noble gatherings, exclusive galas, and clandestine meetings, spending 250 gold each week to cultivate relationships among Isondale’s elite. He wove grand tales of his exploits, exhibited dazzling displays of magic, and subtly hinted at his desire to join the Mage’s Council. As the weeks passed, whispers of his prowess spread through the aristocratic circles.
By the end of the tenth week, Erik’s persistence bore fruit—he was offered the coveted position of Leader of the Conjurers, a place on the esteemed Council of Mages. His ambition had propelled him to a seat of power, cementing his influence over Isondale’s arcane affairs.
Week 11: Ascending to New Heights
With his newfound political standing, Erik turned his focus to further bolstering his magical supremacy. He crafted his signature card, conjured his Simulacrum, and meticulously generated seven flawless diamonds worth 25,000 gold pieces each. However, his ambitions did not stop there—his eyes were set on a legendary artifact, the Robe of the Archmagi.
For days, he sought out a seller, navigating through layers of secrecy and deception. Finally, he struck a deal—a staggering 200,000 gold pieces, paid in gems, in exchange for the robe of ultimate power. As he donned the pristine garment, a surge of energy coursed through him, solidifying his status not just as a council mage, but as a force to be reckoned with.
Out of character
Character sheet has been adjusted for the above activities. He also attained a place on the Mage's Council in Isondale after his long period of carousing. He spent the final downtime week, which is the current one, using his clone to create seven additional gems, each valued at 25,000 gold each and bought the robe of archmagi. By the end of it all he had only a handful of gems left from those he created using his clone.
