Solari Item in Aragani | World Anvil

Solari

The standard currency in the city of Tellurea also known as sol. It is a small square copper token encasing a magnet which is encased by a thin layer of electrumbark fiber.   Larger payments can be made using Centari, these tokens are larger than Solari and are worth 100 Solari, these tokens have an added outside layer which shows a count of the coins connected to it. Many stores inside Tellurea use these to count money and detect counterfeits.   The largest payments are usually made using Divitiae Orbs, starting from 500 Solari, these orbs can exchange wild magic levels with other orbs becoming more valuable as they fill up, when the orb reaches capacity it emits a bright glow, indicating that it's full.   The wealthiest often have custom made orbs with their choice of material, increased capacity, inscriptions and functionalities.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The fibers are enchanted to manipulate the polarity of the magnet in order to fit into larger bricks of Solari, any magnets which lack the enchantment are pushed away to prevent counterfeiting.   Centari hold more complex enchantments, allowing calculations using the wild magic levels of the coins, these coins also hold enchantments containing a serial number which allow the coins to be identified.   Orbs can do all of the above and can be implemented into equipment. An upper-class Tellurean might wear an orb fashioned as a watch. The most expensive ones can also be attuned to a person and can only be operated by them.
