Theories about the Great Beyond
Among Aradeian citizens, many rumours have been spread about the Great Beyond. Above Aradeia and beyond Aevan quarters lies a starry field gliding over the world, far away from mortal and immortal reach. Though some believe Aevans to be powerful enough to reach the Great Beyond, noone has ever been told to have conquered it, not even Aeva herself. Even among the Aevan folk, it is well-known that Aeva had been chosen by the Great Beyond, but had never dared to cross or inhabit it. It's too powerful, even for her.
In the depths of the Elven kingdom, nestled inbetween the mountains, lies a crater, not too far from the capital Sithaline. Set inside, buried to a third, is a massive boulder, radiating an ominous glow that hasn't been seen in this realm before. In contrast to the arcane core's blue glow, this one is purple, eminating a warm aura that many describe as magnetic and daunting. People who spent a lot of time in its presence refused to go home or had problems concentrating on their tasks.
Some of the researchers had reported a voice that spoke to them in foreign tongues and melodic tones. They have wondered about its origin, hoping to find answers to their books full of questions, but as soon as they found a way to communicate with the other side, their minds grew hazy and all information was lost inbetween. Several researchers had been taken back to their families and it took them weeks, if not months or even years, to come back to their senses. To this day, very little is known about its origin, but most scholars are sure that it hasn't come from Aradeia's direct surroundings. Someone was sending this element onto their continent and it was only a matter of time until they would pay them a visit. During the study programme, one scientist died from the boulder's influence. He left a journal at his laboratory to his colleague's relief, at first that is. Its last entry reads as follows:
To this day, nobody knows anything about the entity that escaped the asteroid, nor do they know what to expect. Glowing eyes have become a symbol of danger since then, ostracising those that have a natural glow to their irises (including the chosen and coredwellers).

"Today, I started questioning it again. According to my understanding of its language, it promised me riches beyond my belief. It spoke of a sense of purpose for my life that cannot be parellelled. Its glow fills me with warmth, every step that I take. Apart from the general safety and love that I experience in its presence, I feel this urge to come closer, to lay my hand upon its form and free what is inside. Merethel, my assistant, called out for me again. He doesn't trust it, but he has no clue what is waiting in here for us. I am sure that something is living inside this stone and I must free it.The researcher was found dead mere hours after the ink had dried. He had been a shell of himself, his eyes showing a pale purple hue to their usual blue colour. With hollowed cheeks and leathery skin, he looked as if he had been dead for days, not hours. The healers had no choice but to let him go. His chest had been pierced by a long sharp object that left a slimy substance oozing out of the wound that reached down to his heart. Forensics claimed that he was drained of his life force before his remains were left in the lab. Clerics held a ceremony to lead his body back to the circle of life.
The other day, I have called upon the Tinkerer's Guild for new equipment. A rather risky move, I am aware. But how should I free this creature without the metal works to split the stone? Trees and vines would take an eternity to break it open and who am I to deny my help?
The bearded menaces didn't mind me messing with this structure - this stone is not made from one of their ancestors, so I can claim it as my own... And that I will."
"The structure's heat is increasing. I have measured it again, today, for the fifth time. Degree after degree, I watch it climb the metre... I doubt it will cool down soon. It's telling me to hurry up. Its voice has grown firmer and louder than before. It knows I am here and it waits for me to destroy its restraints. Just a little bit more. I will soon introduce you to this wonderful world."
"I have prepared the experiment. Localised miniature explosions in combination with the tinkerers' device - just a small push and I can create a crater just large enough to push the halves apart and help its prisoner out. Just a little bit more, my love. Keep going, I am right there."
"It's gone. After everything that I did for it, it's gone. I cracked its prison open, waiting for it to come out and as I looked into its glowing eyes, a sharp pain numbed my chest. Its teeth glistened in the purple light, as it slitherd towards me. Her voice, so warm and invitn turnd out to be mimicry. A farce to lul me into freenit. I can barly moov, evry momen hurs. I don't kno weret wen"
