Teleportation Stones
Every coredweller with a calling carries a satchel of teleportation stones in their inventory. Teleportation stones are items of great importance for each and every one who needs a quick out of a dangerous situation. Have in mind that this does not imply murderous acts. While useless in battle due to their ritualistic nature, teleportation stones are quite useful when you wander without rations or - in case you truly are a dweller - need an out once your physical shape starts to flicker.
Do not underestimate the pull of the core; you will most definitely regret it.
In case you need it, take your right stone and draw a ritualistic circle onto the floor, using the following words in runes:
"Take me to the place my heart desires."
Once activated, you clink the stones together three times and speak the place you want to go to loudly and clearly.
Make sure not to choose a place that you have no access to, for the merchants take no responsibility for your actions.
The easiest places to access are Lorla Island, the core cave and settlements in and around the Wilderness.
Make sure to carry them in the satchel given to you and don't give them away without consulting your mentor first.
Enjoy your special gift from the core cave and use it wisely. Sometimes, it's better to walk, even when a teleportation might be all too tempting... All the best!
History
Teleportation stones were once a common item for mages living on Lorla Island and soon expanded their popularity all over Aradeia. They fell out of trend when magical academies became the norm and tinkerers' devices became common among the normal folks. Nowadays, teleportation stones are a beloved item of old wizards and witches, as well as coredwellers and healers (the latter mostly as a precautionary item for chronically ill patients).
Significance
Often overlooked, teleportation stones are very useful, but seen as a sometimes unnecessary shortcut inbetween two places. Considering that it cannot be used in battle, especially melee fighters rarely see the use in them.
Teleportation stones are one of the first items given to Varca Belin, protagonist of In my veins.
Due to their useful properties, they are used during scene transitions. The inability to use them during battle helped to make these intriguing items not too overpowered, yet handy when helping Varca keep his physical appearance.
