Historians

Thousands of years back, before the Omni were considered one ethnic group and the Bloodthirst King terrified the continent, the only people able to track historic events were fittingly named historians. Historians wrote protocols of current events and analyzed former accounts of history for their and their sponsors' benefits. Most of them held high positions in court and parliament, shedding some light on the cases and offering expert knowledge to an otherwise quite clueless public. They secured the stories of old for the Omni for millennia, until Pa'axi, one of the last historians we know of, introduced the tale keeper's orb to her followers.
Given to her by Konkôr Barbendt, Head Speaker of The Glorious Tinkerer, in Dânmaer, she announced that the new historians, the tale keepers, will slowly replace their predecessors. Since then, all citizens interested in history follow the call of the tale keepers and join their clan. Tale keepers cover the tasks of historians, detectives and political advisors and sometimes work closely with guards and merchants.

Tale keepers, as well as historians were before, are strictly Omni. Elves and Dwarves have their own schools of recording events; their memories are kept in libraries and museums, rarely being analyzed or used for reference. Some bolder voices claim that this isolation of the past from the present has led to the problems of today's immortal society. They don't use their past knowledge to make their future better, while the Omni, the Wilderness and free cities like Camorand blossom in wisdom.
A handful of scholars in Sithaline have asked for the accounts of the last five hundred years to study them deeply, after Erínia's departure opened the gates to the Omni again. They are eager to solve the mystery and prevent another war from forming, but there is no certainty whether they can make their voices heard or not. They have fearfully asked the tale keepers in Lorla to help convincing Lumaia that a new war is unnecessary.
