The Burning Sea

There is not much to say except it is a step into hell. Far hotter and colder than the wastes ever get, the Burning Sea is no man's land. Violent sandstorms will strip a man clean of flesh and the bitter cold in the late and early Moons can freeze one's lungs and induce frostbite in mere minutes of exposure.

Geography

Depending on the day, a traveler can have no distinguishing landmarks, then suddenly be surrounded by towering dunes. The further one pushes toward the heart, the more likely you are to get cut by glass or, worse yet, inhale it in powdered form. While difficult to say how hot the Burning Sea really gets, it is clear that it shouldn't be melting the tops of dunes, but they are there- glinting brilliantly in the brutal sunlight. If there is a sudden enough shift in seasonal temperatures, the glazed dune caps can shatter and either blow away in the next sandstorm or slowly sink into the sands if the fragments are heavy enough. (It is strongly advised to not dive headlong into any "snow" you may see.)

Fauna & Flora

While nothing that calls the Burning Sea home has been recorded, there has been some life found along the transitional region into the Burning Sea.   Trickmaws- giant and ancient beasts that lie in wait for a roaming animal or bird. Sometimes, a sandstorm will expose parts of these creatures, but it is probably best to always have bait walk in front of you.   Tubers - Likely to be older than Trickmaws, these plants take incredibly long to grow. A "season" to harvest these would probably take a lifetime to yield something larger than a child's fist.
