The highest rank that can be achieved by non-nobility without 3 Duke's approval is Constal. Warden and above are all noble.
Blade (Armsman)
Telsword (Sergeant), leads 10 Blades called a Section
First Sword (Sergeant Major), leads 20 Blades/Telsword called a Squad (more elite than a section)
Swordcaptain (Lieutenant), serves more logistics
Lionar (Captain), leads 5-7 squads (Troop)
Ornrion (Major), leads 3 Troops (Company)
Constal (Colonel), 10 Companies (Brigade)
Warden, given to Earls and higher who command all troops in their land
Oversword (General), can strip ranks and assume control of multiple Brigades
Battlemaster (Grand Strategist, one member, answers to Throne), similar to Oversword, authority over troop movements.
Lord High Marshall (Answers to Throne), absolute authority over all troops
History:
they originally started as a small group of guards that protected the Throne. The Cormyrean guards of the King slew one of Thauglor's draconic advisors and took a majority of Thauglor's land, making Cormyr its own Nation, also giving the guards the name of “Purple Dragons” After that they liberated Cormyr from the reign of Pirate Lord Margath the Minotaur in 432 DR and are now the army of Cormyr. They are well respected Royal Guards that take an oath to pledge their lives to the Throne of Cormyr. They also helped King Ozoun II slay Thauglor in 1018DR
