Overview
Outside the periphery of the major continents, wonderous settlements and phenomena can still be found. Unexplored expanses, planar anomalies, and bastions against impassable land - the following locations are subject to much speculation and hearsay. Whatever the truth of their nature, their histories are every bit as storied as more inhabited regions. It is in these locations that the world of Apocrypha truly earns its name.
Anvil Plateau.   Beyond Dwar-Greyhral lies the Anvil Plateau, where in legends Moradin first forged Dwarvenkind.
The rocky surface is largely impassable, and deadly creatures stalk the crystalline caverns beneath.
Deposits of adamantine, mithral, and chardalyn make venturing into the Plateau a profitable venture.
Arcanopolis.   This levitating city of unknown origins courses - and teleports - through space above Apocrypha.
Humans, Hybrids, Verdan, and Vedalken all inhabit the city - strange peoples rarely found elsewhere.
Arcanists of all creeds navigate there, seeking the knowledge and magitech inventions held within.
The Dragonlands.   Far southeast of Estra, beyond the XanHuo ocean, lies the long-thought mythological Dragonlands.
What mortal societies reside there is unknown, but dragons can be seen flying to and from its shores.
Impenetrable fog, waves, whirlpools, and maelstroms, make accounts of survival tall tales at best.
The Fey Courts.   Grand seats of power in the Feywild - the courts occasionally manifest on Apocrypha, usually Estra.
Fey and their kin often remain to explore, such as Centaurs, Changelings, Dryads, and werebeasts.
Heralded by revelry, time dilation, and amnesia, they arrive to the chagrin of wherever they turn up.
Forgotten Shoals.   Little is known of this isolated reef or its Kalashtar residents, besides one thing. Nobody returns.
Though paradisal, it belies an abyssal ocean below the Underdark, forever-deep beneath creation.
Conspiracists claim their ancestors caused the Flooding, despite their culture abhorring violence.
The Relentless Floes.   Far north of Utgardur, the ever-advancing glacial continent is home to both Giants and Avariel.
A wasteland since the Dawn Era, snow-buried runic structures mark the path to forgotten cities.
The unerring tide of glaciers hails from Jotunheim, in retribution for an ancient mortal revolt.
The Shadowmists.   Akin to the manifestation of the Fey Courts, mists from the Shadowfell fog both land and mind.
Often occurring after tragedies, Shadar-Kai and Kenku alike emerge as harbingers of ill-omen.
Nightmares, apathy, and lingering undead, indicate the mists' presence while memories fade.
Utgardur.   Giant statues brace against the Relentless Floes; sects vying for control of the city in their shadow.
Human, Dwarf, and Goliath - each sect stalwartly contributes to all industries, or faces sanctions.
Those sanctioned form fishing fleets, cultivate barren farms or work mineral mines beneath the ice.
Warwrought Isles.   Across a shattered peninsula, endless warfare has driven the advancement of advanced technologies.
The sentient automata known as the Warforged struggle to assert themselves, over an origin in blood and rust.
Outsider ships frequent its rocky seas, eager to gain the allegiance of these industrious, and reclusive peoples.
The Western Continent.   Over boundless oceans is rumoured to be a Western continent, if such rumours can be believed.
Some scholars theorise that such a place, is simply the unseen eastern shores of the Anvil Plateau.
Others posit that it has long since sunk beneath the tides, with legends coming from days of old.
