The Brass Laboratory, the headquarters of The Copper Gauntlet is destroyed in an accident, after conducting an experiment attempting to enter The Copper Gardens but instead opening a portal to Sporeplanus. Nearly 200 innocents lose their lives in the ensuing demonic swarm, and the Copper Gauntlet are temporarily disbanded.
