Ritual of the Living Pinion

The Ritual of the Living Pinion is a complicated Necromantic ritual, designed to turn a mortal being into a Lich. It involves harnessing the power of the Far Realm to unanchor one's soul, before transposing that soul into a vessel. Much care must be taken to ensure the body can survive the process, as looking into the raw Far Realm is not for the faint of heart.

History

Much of the history of The Ritual has been lost to time, mostly due to the high death toll of each event. What is known is the first incidence in which Shubb'Ki turned his daughter into a Lich by exposing her to the raw Far Realm. This legend is detailed in The Mortal Sword.
