Corpus Krex
Krex Malinius is a High Elven Psi-Warrior Fighter. He is most famous for being one of the longest lived Corpus Callosuem, earning him his most famous moniker, Corpus Krex. Krex is known for his almost alien demeanor and unmatched mastery of psionic combat.
Once a brilliant warrior, Krex willingly embraced the role when the previous Corpus Callosuem was overwhelmed and devoured by an aberration drawn through their portal. Krex’s presence is both a blessing and a curse for the House: His deep connection to the Far Realm allows him to generate powerful psionic constructs, shield the House from incursions, and predict alien movements with eerie accuracy. However, Krex’s portal has grown unstable, occasionally spawning tendrils or minor aberrations when he loses focus. His fragmented mind makes him unpredictable, and his increasing detachment from reality is a growing concern. To enhance his powers, and allow him to actually get some rest from the endless psiconic chattering, Krex trances within a great machine that siphons his excess energy to produce portals that the House can use to quickly move across the continents.
Unknown to most members, Krex has glimpsed an apocalyptic vision; the Far Realm’s influence will eventually overwhelm the material plane, and his portal may be the tipping point. He struggles to hide this knowledge, though the strain it places on him is evident. However, he is not entirely helpless to prevent the dark futures he has predicted. Occasionally, Krex may ask a House member, of any rank, to complete a deed of seeming meaninglessness, such as killing a lowly Necromancer or ensuring a certain commoner survived a Vampire attack. The House have learnt to not question these commands, as Krex always has his reasons.
