Sentinel of the Deep

The current Sentinel of the Deep in Reef, Olyna Demelath, was once a respected warrior and leader amongst her people, though her handling of the Blight has diminished her power significantly. There are frequent rumors that the rest of the Sentinel Council intends to remove her and that the only thing stopping them is the fact that the four members rarely agree with each other about every other issues facing the Tritons. 
Olyna is an isolationist, believing that the surface world is full of temptations that will distract the Tritons from their ultimate purpose: to defend Aorna against the threats of the deep. She considers surface dwellers to be frivolous, selfish and often dangerous to their own communities and nations. As such, she has stood staunchly against the plan to ask for aid in dealing with the Blight and refuses to even toy with the idea of invading the surface - knowing that they do not have nearly enough resources to go to battle with nations like Aracia, Arcenveld or Mephistia. Instead, she knows the Tritons must stand their ground and be willing to sacrifice everything in the name of their mission. 
Since the unknown aquatic behemoth appeared on the fringes of Triton terrtory, Olyna has been on the front lines, arranging battalions of troops to defend against this potential threat. This is where she feels at home, on the battlefield, preferring not to deal with the strange politics of the Council.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Olyna is a slender, lean muscled woman with a serious demeanor and a commanding voice. She has a rare trait among the Tritons that gives her natural camouflage abilities. She can touch the surface of an object beneath the waves and match its general texture and color. This gave her a unique advantage as a warrior and is part of what makes her a perfect Sentinel to lead the fight against the elements.
