When Folas died, he had to pay off his soul debt of 150 or 50 soul coins (can't currently remember which it was) by having his soul be re-enslaved by Mahadi. Now he serves alongside Smiler but is in his soul form, his body looks like it was formed of dark gray clay that has been wrenched apart where the Core Emissary ripped him open. This debt will be paid off in time and then he will rejoin the Orchilith.
