The Monument to the Fallen

The monument to the fallen initially began to take form in AoA -002. Tia Aeternum spent much of her time in this small stone garden carving the names of those around her who had died in her life. The first entries written can be found in the center of the monument:
  • King Rogrick Aeternum
  • Queen Lillah Aeternum
  • Jacob Vomburg
  • Gillian Vomburg
  • Devon Vomburg
  • Lilah Fortes
  • Sabastion Fortes
  • Ardon Kolyana
  • Jamie Weston
The list continues on, displaying fifty-seven more names hand-carved byTia. In AoA 008 Lilly added the following message.   "Not a day to remember battles or wars, but a day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of our nation. It is our sacred duty to ensure the names of our fallen and their memory are not lost to history, and moments held on sacred ground like this will ensure we always remember them. Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. And if words cannot repay the debt we owe these brave souls, surely with our actions we must strive to keep faith with them and with the vision that led them to battle and to final sacrifice. These are the men and women who will never come home to hold their loved ones in their arms or to again see their sons and daughters or marvel how they grew while they were away answering the call of duty, or to see one last time their beloved city. I pledge with all my might to carry the torch you so competently carried with no sign of strain. For such a burden is but a humble offering of repayment to what you so willingly gave. Thank you." ~ Lilly   After the war ended thousands of names were added to the monument as it expanded ever outward. An eternal blue flame burns bright in the middle of the monument serving as a beacon of hope for those who were lost so they might find their way home.
