Ancient History Part 1:

Age of Creators Races: -50,000 AoA to -5,800 AoA

The known history of the Antiquorum spans thousands of years, extending back into the misty epochs of the creator races and the ages of the first nations of the elves and dwarves. Comparatively recent history is the story of the rise and deeds of humans and other younger races.   Much of what follows is known mainly by sages. The common folk across Aeternum have little knowledge of, and little use for, events that have transpired far away in time and space. Tens of thousands of years ago, empires of reptilian, amphibian, and avian peoples — known in Elvish as Iqua’Tel’Quessir, the creator races — dominated the world. They built great cities of stone and glass, carved paths through the wilderness, tamed the great lizards, worked mighty magics, shaped the world around them, and warred upon each other. Those were the Days of Thunder.   The age of the creator races came to a sudden end some thirty thousand years ago. Perhaps their wars reached a terrible and inevitable crescendo, or they tampered with forbidden forces. For whatever reason, the world changed, and their vast empires vanished. All that remains of them are ruins and references in ancient text.   From the ruins of the Days of Thunder arose the first nations of the Proud People — the elves and dwarves — in the region. The elves raised up the vast cities. They settled Antiquorum, from the Spine of the World to the Frozen North and south to Idica. Wood elves and moon elves founded Cities within Vally's and the High Forest, and separatists from Aryvandaar settled Miyeritar in the lands of the present-day.   The dwarf clans united as the nation of Delzoun, named for its forge-founder, with dwarfholds built on sites ranging from the Ice Mountains to the Narrow Sea, and settlements and halls westward to the Crags and the Sword Mountains. The Proud People regularly defended their homelands against orc hordes that arose from the mountains of the Spine of the World and surged southward to attack and pillage.   Some thirteen thousand years ago, war broke out between the elven cities beginning a series of conflicts known as the Crown Wars. Lasting some three thousand years, these conflicts culminated in the Dark Disaster, in which terrible storms engulfed the land, turning it into a wasteland within a single season. The vengeful dark elves of Ilythiir turned to corrupt and demonic powers, unleashing them against Aryvandaar. In the centuries of destruction that followed, elf priests and high mages fervently prayed to Corellon Larethian and the gods of the elven pantheon for salvation.   Corellon interceded in the Crown Wars and cursed the dark elves so that they might never dwell comfortably under the sun. Now finding themselves pained by exposure to daylight, the drow — in a mere two months’ time — retreated from the sunlit lands of the World Above into the Underdark. They abandoned all loyalty to the elven gods who betrayed and banished them, turning instead to Lolth, the Demon Queen of Spiders, as their patron. Wars soon began between the drow and the underground cities of the dwarves.   For millennia following the end of the Crown Wars, humans spread and settled throughout Aeternum as the elven and dwarven nations stagnated and then began a long, slow decline. Deep in the Underdark, the drow fought wars of survival and conquest in their new domain. Until one day all contact with all of the ancient civilizations vanished.

Ancient History Part 2:

-5800 AOA to -5050

The world sat empty ruled by nature and the strongest of ancient beings unconcerned with mortal happenings.

Ancient History Part 3

-5050 AoA to -2057

In -5050 AoA a group of people, led by Liala Aeternum appeared in the land and established the world of Antiquorum   Liala Aeternum, born of an Malachorian named Bel and an Astralith being named Hayliel, embodied the extraordinary union of two warring races. Despite the eternal conflict between Malachorian and Astralith, her parents discovered a profound love that allowed them to coexist. For a time, they found solace in a secluded realm, shielded from the chaos of war, until Liala turned six.   It was then that Hayliel's father, Lucien, arrived and expressed his disdain for the blending of their lineages. In a heartless act, he maimed Bel and cast Liala into a perilous labyrinth, a place of almost certain death. Yet, against all odds, Liala survived, navigating the treacherous maze that connected countless worlds across the universe. Cut off from her parents, she matured mentally, physically, and spiritually, and her powers flourished. Gathering fellow wanderers, she led them to establish a powerful civilization called Aetherian Empire.   Meanwhile, consumed by a burning rage at the loss of his daughter, Bel vowed to undo reality itself in his quest to destroy the Astralith Race and reunite with Liala. His descent into darkness witnessed by Hayliel, she too was stricken with grief. Determined to find her daughter and restore peace, she eventually located Liala. However, it became clear to Hayliel that Bel's hatred had consumed him, rendering him beyond redemption. Together with Liala, she devised a complex ritual that sealed Bel, the Malachorians, the Astralith and the Aetherians from each other, preventing war from engulfing everything. This intricate magic required sacrifices from heroic bloodlines and Hayliel herself. Thus, Liala Aeternum and her descendants were entrusted with the eternal task of preserving the barrier that protected and sealed away each group.   Liala's empire thrived for three thousand years. It was a realm of enchantment and wonder that dominated the world. However as centuries passed internal conflicts and external pressures led to the eventual collapse of the empire. In -2057 AoA, the height of conflict arose inside the empire and world crumbled giving way to many of the kingdoms that still exist today.     Ancient History Part 4:

-2057 AoA to -21 AoA

Following the collapse of Aetherian Empire, three new powers rose from the ashes, each led by a sect of the previous empire’s council.   The first, Aeternum was led by Illian and Eve Aeternum; the reemerged civilization took in refugees from the fallen empire, and new settlements were made up of a vast mixture of races and backgrounds. They unified themselves under the name of Aeternum, settling in the northern regions of Antiquirom, and have lasted for thousands of years defending against any who would attempt to repeat history.   The second kingdom to reemerge was that of Idica, it's sect was led by a group of council members who resolved to use technology infused with a more tightly controlled magical architecture. In this way, they could move past the reliance on pure magic to sustain their people. They believed through this approach it was possible to avoid the chaotic nature of magic. Idica is in the south and western sections of the world.   The third was that of Aredia, which was led by those who clung to fallen empire beliefs. They were strong in faith and worship. As Aredia evolved, so did its affinity for fanaticism. They became more isolated from the rest of the world choosing to close their boarders from outsiders. Aredia settled in the northeast regions of the world   The final Country Eqix, was formed after portions of Aredia and Idica countries broke away through the ages. They formed in -1500 AoA and have secured the Southeast Portions of the World.
