Kriffpool

Kriffpool is a city on the northeast tip of Hansola. It is predominantly a trade and harbor city, it lies at a convenient place for ships to stop along their travels and is sort of in the middle of the known world. There is a Sumarrian Fortress on its edge that allows for the resupply of The Sumarrian Empire's operations around the continent of Alberon. There is also a borough of the city called little darkstone where many sumarrians live, mostly military families. Now that the war with the dwarves is over tensions in the city have begun to rise, many don't see the purpose of the sumarrian navy base anymore.

Government

The City is the Capital of Kriff Barrony and so is ruled by Barron Kriff. However, most of the governance of the city itself is done by a city counsel, each borough ellects a member for the council which is lead by a Prime Counselor of noble decent chosen by the Barron.

Guilds and Factions

There are several powerful factions in the city vying for control.
The Nobility, baron Kriff and other nobles who seek to increase the power of nobleman in the city. They fight for preserving the power gained by their ancestors and governing the peasants.
The Shipwright's Guild, a guild of dockmasters, carpenters, and sailmakers. They get a piece of ship building and repair in the city and most of the surrounding hamlets.
The Church, with the many of the high ranking church members dying in the fall of Alberon, many hansolan priests were uplifted and gained considerable power. The church in town was recently upgraded to a cathedral when one of the tenders was elevated to shepherd.
Fort Brizbane, a Sumarrian fort next to the city, built on hansolan land to aid in the containment of the dwarven threat. They pull considerable weight in the city though as Sumarrian traffic represents a significant amount of the city's economy. Now that the war with the dwarves is over many residents question it's existence.
Little Darkstone, a borough of the city comprised almost entirely of Sumarrian immigrants, mostly military families who's family is serving in the dwarven blockade. They are in constant opposition to the nobility and the church because they worship a different god and want a meritocracy.
