Gigantaros (Gig-ant-tah-ros)
This island is south of Solan and was once the site of the first Hansolan colony. But the human residents evacuated less than 10 years later due to the island's inhospitable nature. The island is inhabited not only by dinosaurs and other large predators but also carnivorous plants and tribes of Lizardfolk who did not take kindly to human visitors. Occasionally hunters go to the island in search of dangerous prey either hiding from or negotiating with the Lizardfolk.
There are several clusters of ruins on the island even though lizardfolk generally don't build buildings. Some are left over from the Hansolan attempts at colonization, but others are older. Geography
Three large mountain peaks dominate the island's landscape, the center of which is an active volcano. A thick jungle lies on the southeast side. The rest of the island is largely fields with small bits of jungle breaking it up, especially along the rivers.
Ecosystem
The weather is hot and moist. Often humid and rainfall almost half of all days.
History
The Lizardfolk have inhabited Gigantaros for as long as anyone can remember. They are constantly skirmishing amongst themselves but have found relative peace in recent years. Back in the 2670's the Hansolan government tried to colonize the island, forcing the lizardfolk to form a united front against the invaders. After 10 years of guerrilla war the Hansolans couldn't bear the expense and left the island.
