Bradis (brä-dēs)
Bradis is a large trade city and the only sizeable port in the Shattered Sea not controlled by the Sumarrian Empire or swarming with pirates. It is ruled by the iron fist of Lord Vergass, a reclusive figure who rules the city with an iron fist through his soldiers known as the red guard. Though the occupants themselves don't often own slaves it is a slave friendly port and often has slave auctions that draw interest from Bastion, Zirdy, Kotland, and other unsavory groups.
Bradis is also known for its famed gladiator pits with free men and slaves alike competing for the amusement of the crowd. Every two years the city hosts the Gladiator games where any fighter can try for the title of Grand Gladiator. If the winner is a slave Lord Vergass buys them from their owners for 500,000 gold and frees them in the grand ceremony. If the winner is a free person they are given the 500,000 instead.
Bradis is also home to the storied Green Manor, which is in fact mostly burgundy. Green being the family name of the wealthy people within rumored to be an offshoot of the Brickertonian Imperial line.

The Crimson Bank
The Crimson Bank is the only real competition for the Swiss Bank. They are old enough and wealthy enough to have credibility with most nations. They often have slightly higher rates, but are also willing to give loans to basically anyone for basically any reason. Need to fund a pirate voyage? they got you, need a loan to pay an assassin? they got you, want help opening your drug ring? they got you. They also do ordinary loans, like business or home loans and have a much lower minimum amount than the Swiss Bank. Generally, the Swiss Bank is more powerful, but the Crimson Bank is far more scary. Those who fail to pay are often enslaved and sold to pay their debts. The bank is run by Bradis' minister of finance Reginald Orzhov, who has all sorts of conspiracy theories about him. Like Lord Vergas he has supposedly been alive for over 1000 years, he is believed to be one of Vergas' few real friends.Demographics
The city is very diverse with humans making up about a third of the population. The else is split among elves, halflings, gnomes, orcs, tabaxi, leonin, satyrs, lizardfolk, tieflings, and minotaurs. There are no extradition treaties here and those who are wanted might be found here.
Government
Very little is known about the government of Bradis. Those convicted of crimes disappear, those that oppose the government disappear, and anyone that asks too many questions about it also disappears.
