The Keys of Telku / The Final Key pt. 22 / Kahn the 10th, 3593 CE / 5-7-23

General Summary

Deep in the catacombs below the Cathedral of Baal in Baali, the Adventurers have just had a close encounter when one of the Amita K'un helping them recover the last Key of Telku fell into a snake pit. Having successfully recovered Strev, the party enters the next chamber, finding it swarming with bug-lilke creatures more attracted to attacking their arms and armor then them. Moments later, another pet of the Baalites reveals itself, a girallon, similiar to the one which Rikit fought in the Black Cathedral beneath Ludon. After dispatching the monsters, the party proceeds with the assistance of Taavi having to kick in the next door due to Strev inadvertantly jamming the lock. Hush takes point, anxious to find his father, but only finds more of the bug-creatures. The commotion in the battle that ensues also attracts the attention of strange brain-washed Baalites from an adjacent chamber, who attack the party with animal-like ferocity. At the back of the hall Nari sees a large Baalite idol, oddly animalistic as well in its appearance, and in its right hand the final Key. As the melee with the Baalite beserkers continues, Nataliya emerges from her doll form in Hush's pack and quickly moves to grab the key while musing on its import. She summons a spectral spider but the ectoplasmic mount is quickly dispatched by berserker's clubs. Suddenly the voice of the Daughter of Baal can be heard from down the central promenade of the altar room, proclaiming our party’s certain doom. Due to the strange acoustics of the chamber, Nari is confused, and already distrustful of the drow, fires a projectile at Nataliya as well as trying to incite a bout of hideous laughter, but to no avail.
