The Keys of Telku / The Final Key pt. 15 / Kith the 30th, 3593 CE / 6-26-22

General Summary

In the sewers beneath Pandona, the Adventurers, accompanied by their Amita K'un allies, head towards what they hope is a secret entrance to the palace of House Eichon in order to end the vendetta between the powerful merchant house and their own patrons, House Dracus. As they make their way carefully using maps provided by Master Sun, sensei of the Amita K'un, they are ambushed by Doomknights, killers for hire who previously assaulted the party in their sleep at Castle Dracus their first night in Pandona. Though the Doomknights are dispatched, it is not without some casualties on the part of their allies. As the ninja Night urges the party to hurry forward to their objective and not be distracted, the party notes they are being followed by more mysterious masked men whom Night identifies as Shadowmen, servants of House Oberion. Rados recalls his visions from the spells he has been casting, indicating House Oberion is plotting with their one time employer and now nemesis, Tarrus the One-Eyed. But as the Shadowmen seem to be hanging back and not attacking, the Adventurers decide to follow Night's advice and press forward. Leaving the sewers for what appear to be a series of access tunnels, they soon reach a set of doors leading to a sublevel of Castle Eichon. But fearing the worst, their suspicions prove correct when opening the doors reveals Ashikaga, the leader of House Eichon's elite Bloodguard, along with a cadre of his troops. He is accompanied by Lady Bloodmist, the mysterious vampiric ancestor of House Eichon. Even worse, it appears she has turned the Bloodguard they face into vampires as well. As the battle is joined, several Bloodguard are dispatched, but mysteriously turn to a kind of smoky mist. Stele heroically charges into the midst of the vampire ninjas, using the powers of Accuris to lay several of them low. Then with a mighty strike, Rados appears to slay Lady Bloodmist herself, but the fact that her form dissipates before his eyes leaves him suspicious that this is not the last the party has seen of the ancient vampire.
