The Keys of Telku / The Final Key pt. 11 / Kith the 25th, 3593 CE / 4-24-22

General Summary

The Adventurers are in the palace of House Eichon on a mission of subterfuge. They are hoping to discover intel on the plot against their current patron in Pandona, House Dracus, thus securing House Dracus's aid in their own quest to prevent Tarrus the One-Eyed from assembling the Keys of Telku. After fighting a cadre of House Eichon guards in the palace's basement sepulcher, the Adventurers, along with their Amita K'un companions Night and First, now make their way carefully through the wide halls of the palace, using various methods of stealth. As they hear the sound of approaching boot steps, the party quickly hides and watches as Lord Mako, son of Overlord Kitaya of House Dracus, is hurried down the corridor by more guardsmen. They make their way through large double doors at the end of the hall leading to an audience chamber, but the doors close with finality, leaving two guards to keep watch. Night and First, using their ninja skills, have climbed to the ceiling, where they cut a hole in order to make their way through and observe and the room beyond the double doors. Rados, with his powers of flight, decides to join them. From their hiding spot, they see that along with Mako and Lord Namara, the council also includes Ashikaga, the former Amita K'un who now appears to be Lord Namara's trusted advisor. As the ninjas and Rados watch, Mako reveals that rather than being a prisoner, he is in fact a double agent for House Eichon, and he is there to warn Lord Namara about the expedition to spy on him. Immediately deducing his former comrade's methods, Ahsikaga points to the ceiling, revealing Rados and Night's hiding spot. Rados prays to Mother Matina, and suddenly an earthquake rips through the palace, throwing their enemies off balance. Moss uses the confusion to impersonate a guard and seperate Lord Namara from the others, while Adrienne stabs Mako, hoping to kill him. With Rados's aid, Moss activates the Portal of Fallen Leaves, and Rados is able to capture Lord Namara and take him back to House Dracus. Meanwhile, the others flee the hordes of guards and Bloodguard, returning to where Stele is hiding in the basement and using the secret entrance to the sewers just as a new opponent enters the fray, the mysterious female samurai in blood red armor entombed in House Eichon's catacombs.
