General Summary

At the exclusive Cusp of Sunrise, Not By Choice are introduced to their host, an aged dwarf named Davked Splintershield. Davked offers to hire the party to find his son Zenith, who went missing on an expedition into the Everlasting Night. In addition to 6,000 gold each, the party members will be offered membership in the club, giving them access to high-ranking members of Cauldron society. Not By Choice agrees, and after gathering up their new companion Uriah, they head out in search of the one person who they've been told may have a line on a way into the Everlasting Night now that Jzadirune and the Malachite Fortress having been sealed off by the Stormblades. The man they search for is a hermit named Crazy Jared, and after a day's travel inland, they find his hut, strangely made up to resemble a castle, high up in the foothills of the mountainous island. Unfortunately, they also find a young red dragon named Dottrog who is menacing the old man in search of someone named Dhorlot the Fecund. The party intervenes and Milton attempts diplomacy, but when Dottrog spies Jared attempting to escape, he blasts Jared's hut with fire.
