General Summary

The battle continues on the bloody grounds of the Free City Arena, as Not By Choice competes in their first match of the Champion's Games. As their opponents fall one by one, Lulu and Nari attempt to minimize the bloodshed, using magic to disable and stabilize their opponents. After all, they are not here to fight, but to infiltrate the games, in order to discover the true motivations behind the Arena Master Loris Raknian's plot to kill Lulu. But some cannot be saved. As Joren the fanatical hobgoblin transforms into a crocodile and charges Not by Choice's ranks, River puts him down with a lethal strike from her trident. The druid's final words echo his cause of freeing the arena's animals from servitude. With both Arcane Auriga and Badland's Revenge down for the count, the time has come for the party to have a reckoning with their temporary allies in Sapphire Squad. As Hush implores his new friend Jorush the janni to find a way to avoid further bloodshed, Jorush insists that he must follow his path to glory. In the ensuing charge, Jorush's fellow rider is killed, but Jorush vanishes, even as Hush slays the janni's mount. Now the party scans the arena for their final opponent, and Hush wonders if he will have to end the match with another death.
