The Age of Worms / Hall of Harsh Reflections pt. 6 / Vish the 29th through the 30th, 3592 CE / 6-2-19

General Summary

Unsure of where to go in the dead of night, Lulu loads her companions up in the wheel barrow the doppelgangers gave her and heads to the Free City Arena, hoping her friend Auric the gladiator can help her and her friends. When she gets there in the wee hours before dawn, she encounters a guard who informs her that Auric has not yet returned from the cathouses. Asking where else she might find him, the guard informs her that Auric sometimes drinks at the Crooked House. Finding neither response helpful under the circumstances, Lulu decides to next head to the Arcanum of the Seekers. The curator who opens the door is the same one she encountered previously, Ophedes Ruperil. He agrees to allow the party to come inside and rest in one of their guest rooms, even providing a few healing potions. Lulu knows the Seekers well enough to assume that this generosity will come with a price tag later. When Rikit and Los are revived, the party confers about next steps and agrees that they must fulfill the contract they made with the doppelgangers. Rikit goes out to seek reagents for his alchemy, while Lulu discovers the location of the Cold Forge, and confers with Auric, who comes to visit after receiving the message from the guard, and reveals that Drask is in custody for the murder of Tarquin Shortstone. They deduce that the imprisoned Drask is no doubt a doppelganger, part of Telakin's scheme to make it easier for the party to reach Zyrxog. Lulu and Los set out for the Cold Forge, reaching it just as Rikit is exiting the nearby alchemist shop, the Smokeless Whisper. The reunited party prepares to investigate the smithy and what connection it might have to the mysterious Zyrxog.
