Half-elf

Aleria: Due to the continued animosity between most elves and humans in Aleria, half-elf hybrids are extremely rare. They are perhaps most commonly found in New Nalizant, where the more open mixing of cultures has allowed some elves to incorporate themselves back into human society, which has contributed to occasional elf/human pairings. In some rare instances, half-elves can even trace their ancestry back to the days of the Ancient Empire. Despite the fact that most elves remain mistrusted by humans in Aleria, half-elves actually find themselves the subject of much adoration in human communities. This is in no small part due to the fact that the greatest hero in the Last War of the Ancients, a paladin of the Sun named Fantalus the Unbound who lead the charge against the demon-hordes, was himself a half-elf. Many half-elves find themselves pushed in the direction of being adventurers from an early age due to this sometimes unfair comparison.
