Core Stats
These are the core stats of all Players, NPCs, Creatures and Spirits.
Pools
Vigor
Vigor represents your health and physical condition. Most Creatures will use Vigor as their primary pool, while most Spirits will have little in the way of Vigor.- If the Vigor of a Creature reaches or falls below 0, they gain one rank of the Dying condition per round.
- If they accumulate 5 ranks of Dying, they die permanently.
- If they receive a successful medical check, they are stabilized, have 1 Vigor, and no longer gain ranks of Dying each round.
- If they are the target of an ability that grants enough Vigor to bring their Vigor to 1 or more, they no longer gain ranks of Dying each round.
- Accumulated ranks of Dying persist until the next long rest.
- If a Creature receives damage to their Vigor while they have 0 or less Vigor, they receive an additional rank of Dying.
- If the Vigor of a Spirit reaches or falls below 0 while they are not in the Spirit World, they immediately lose all physical form and are banished to the Spirit World.
Anima
Anima represents your ability to leverage your connection to the Spirit World to affect the physical world around you. Most Spirits will use Anima as their primary pool, while most Creatures will have little in the way of Anima.- If the Anima of a Creature reaches or falls below 0, they become unable to use any ability with the Anima keyword until their Anima recovers to 1 or more.
- Unless stated otherwise, if the target has 0 or less Anima, an ability that deals Anima damage will deal half of that damage, rounded down, to the target's Vigor pool instead.
- If the Anima of a Spirit reaches or falls below 0 they are immediately destroyed.
- Anima regenerates at the rate of 1 per round.
