Elaera Nightwood

As mysterious as the magick around her, Elaera has talents in political aspects as well as the arcane studies of the fae. She rules as the Supreme Witch, guarding the secrets of supernaturals and magi for as long as she has been around.

Elaera is considered the highest rank of all magi. She represents hope for all kinds, which started shortly after her family brought her to the New Lands to learn new ways to control her magick. Her parents even sold her as a slave to new owners with the thought of earning some quick coin. Needless to say, that failed miserably when her owners saw her magickal talents as blasphemy against God and tried to have her hanged. Elaera only escaped with the help of those staying at the School of Nightshade.
The school felt like a new home to Elaera, where she learned to control her new abilities, accessing higher tiers of magick that magi never thought possible. Over time, she found her connection to the moon to be strongest and she was granted a moonstone said to be blessed by the Moon Goddess. By placing it in her staff, her magick became exponentially stronger. She quickly surpassed her teacher's expectations and graduated at the top of her class in only her first year, seeing the Catacombs so soon.
After graduation, Elaera was taken under the wing of the headmaster of the school, training to eventually take over with the intent that the next generation wouldn't be as weak or easily found. Elaera continued her training and came across an ancient tome of magi bloodlines; hers was simple -- connecting straight to the fae lineage. She took this as a sign to become stronger and build a bridge between the fae and the material plane, and she chose to stay in the fae realm to conduct studies on magick. Within a hundred years, she was granted the right to become the next Supreme Witch.
Elaera continued studying new forms of magick with her knowledge increasing over the centuries while she looked for the next supreme to take after her. In the last one hundred years, corruption between vampires and werewolves has increased, leading to rough times throughout the communities.
As a new school year starts the School of Nightshade, Elaera has heard rumors of a promising new student with exceptional power equal to her own. She eagerly awaits to see if the student can match their potential....
