Session 1 - Genevieve Lao - "I Meet the Party and Don't Really Like Kids"

General Summary

Year 999, Feb 16th   I arrived at Radivant late the previous night. Unfortunately, the gates to the town had been closed and I had no other choice but to camp outside until they reopened them the following morning. I ended up sharing a fire with a few other individuals who also found themselves locked outside Radivant. An interesting group to say the least. They spent a lot of their time talking around the fire and sharing their stories.   Later into the night, there were strange noises coming from the west. A majority of the group went to investigate. Apparently, there was a group of goblins attempting to climb over the wall. I heard the commotion and decided I had to see it for myself. I must say, I was surprised those goblins had enough brains to construct a ladder, though it looked barely strong enough to hold up a feather. I thought it strange that they were able to get so close to the wall without being noticed. I saw that a torch on the wall was out and upon closer inspection found that it seemed like the cover over it had been tampered with. An interesting detail I was intending to keep to myself if it wasn’t for that woman. Tattersail , was it? A mage of the White Council ...something about her doesn’t sit quite right with me.   We also had an appearance from Old Angry Eyes. I swear he grows more captivating by the day. This was the first time I was that close to him. Something about him seemed off. I hope that he isn’t in any sort of pain. I will have to look into a way to help him…   The guards heard the commotion outside, saw that group had taken care of the goblins, and allowed us inside. Though I wasn’t involved with the fighting (Why would I? Goblins are truly a waste of time), I was included with the rest of the group. I can’t complain, I got a decent reward out of it: money and free stay at the local inn. While the group drank and socialized amongst themselves, I took time to reflect on who I found myself with...   Riley: Comes from Sepik to help sell some of his mother’s elixirs. That’s all he seems to talk about really. He seems quite proud of it. He spent almost the entirety of the afternoon drinking and carrying on. Definitely the rowdy type when he gets drunk.   Arya: Isn’t from Genebackis but recently entered through Kupptown. It’s truly a mystery how she made it through there alive and with clothes still on her back. She came from the Shattered Isles but hasn’t said much besides that. There’s seems to be more to her than what she is letting on.   Dutch: Works for the white council and likes to wear bandages on his face for whatever reason. I rather not question it. He doesn’t seem to be the smartest one in the bunch, but he’s definitely the most social… and asks the most questions. Hopefully my job title as a “paper saleswoman” keeps his nose out of places where it doesn’t belong.   Avull: Also works for the white council and seems to be a nervous wreck in almost any situation. Doesn’t seem to enjoy fighting either. She actually decided to keep a goblin alive. Haha...a goblin?...those useless little pest?. What was she hoping to do? Talk to it and make friends? I hope for her sake that she’s able to grow a backbone when the time comes.   Fi: A young Tiefling girl with a knack for the Viol. She does play wonderfully, I will give her that much credit. Though I’m not very fond of children, she’s tolerable at least.   It seems that the group will be sticking together to investigate some rumors surrounding the mines. I’m not all too concerned with using my spare time to save miners, but I feel that associating myself with some sort of group may work in my favor. There is safety in numbers after all...especially with a career such as mine...so I’ll stick with them for the time being. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the mines...maybe I’ll grab a souvenir while I’m there.
