Microluma

Microluma is a species of microscopic creatures living in bodies of still, fresh water. They are a bioluminescent species, capable of emitting light and creating a faint glow. This glow can be of various colors, depending on environmental circumstances. Even though the glow may look alarming, water infested with Microluma is actually perfectly safe for drinking for most creatures. With special modifications and treatment the Jav even used them in medical studies and procedures, where they were changed to emit light that can be seen through the body so that the targeted internal system would be easy to study without having to resort to invasive methods.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Microluma were used by the Jav in medical studies and procedures. First they were put through a procedure that would make sure they would be perfectly safe to the host body. This procedure could be considered genetic modification and took into account the internal system that was to be targeted as they could injected into any internal system; the vascular system, digestive system, even the skeleton etc. Once injected, the host's internal system would be lit up and could be seen by any observer without requiring specialized equipment. This way it was possible to inspect, for example, broken bones in a lot of details without having to touch or invade the patient's body.
