Glacier's Peak

Far from any cities or towns, Glacier's Peak is a small village nestled in a valley at the base of a large glacier.

Demographics

Glacier's Peak is extremely small in both size and population. Only a few dozen people live in the village at any given time, with the majority of them being Human. Due to it's small size and large distance the village as a whole is relatively poor.

Government

The village is technically part of one of the neighboring kingdoms, but the only time the kingdom has anything to do with the village is to collect taxes once a year. Otherwise left to it's own devices, the descendants of the man who founded the village are the ones that run it. They are the ones who make the laws, decide what can be built, etc.

Industry & Trade

The village gets most of it's coin from the sale of animal hides and wooden tools/toys. About two times a year a merchant passes through the area, buying their goods and selling the village any medicine, preserved foods, and luxury goods they may need. This is also one of the few times the village will get news of the outside world.

Geography

The village is nestled in a valley at the edge of a small lake fed by the massive glacier right next to it.

Natural Resources

The area around the village is heavily wooded, so the village has access to plenty of timber in which to construct it's buildings and heat their homes. They also produce hand carved goods from the timber they harvest. Deer, Moose, and lots of other game are bountiful within the forest, supplying the village with enough meat and hide to survive the harsh winters and bring in some coin. The glacier fed lake provides the village will all they fresh water they need and also houses several species of fish that the villagers harvest.
