'Lost Dwarven Kingdom'
Dwarves have slowly expanded their territory to have at least one kingdom per mountain range, however there is one mountain range that is surprisingly void of Dwarves. An expedition into this mountain range however, found the ruins of a kingdom that suggested it was Dwarven in origin
I still need to figure out what happened to the kingdom. These are some ideas.
- Disease wiped everyone out.
- Conflict/war broke out, killing off the majority of the inhabitants. Those that survived were too injured or not enough yo keep a society running.
- Some race/creature (Troll) dug their way into the kingdom or the Dwarves dug their way towards them, and killed/ate the Dwarves who were not expecting an attack.
- Dug their way into a chamber with toxic gas, gas drifted into kingdom and killed everyone quickly.
- Fungus infected the inhabitants, resulting in the kingdom collapsing.
History
The 'L.D.K.' was one of the first Dwarven kingdoms to lose connection to the rest. The kingdom had survived for awhile but at some point all of its inhabitants died off before the first age. It will not be rediscovered by the modern folk until the third or forth age.
Architecture
Unlike modern Dwarven architecture, this kingdom uses a fair amount of lumber in their structures, suggesting it still had access to the surface world.
RUINED SETTLEMENT
Long before the first age.
