'Arcane Prison'

Not all places welcomed the influx of magic and those that can use magic, and in one kingdom they took their hatred of magic to the extreme. and imprisoned any suspected magic users the second they are discovered. The place they are sent to is the 'Arcane Prison', and it is a place no magic user ever wants to be sent to.

Purpose / Function

The 'Arcane Prison' was built to temporarily hold captured magic users before being scarified to the gods or selected to join the ranks of the 'Anti-Magic Guard'. As the kingdom became more and more anti-magic and the number of magic users increased, the kingdom need a place to hold magic users while they were processed and prepared to be sacrificed. It is out fitted and stocked with many chains and cuffs built with materials resistant to magical effects. In addition the prison is guarded by fellow magic users who were brainwashed to obey the kingdom's wishes.

Alterations

The prison has only expanded as time has passed, for no matter how many magic users they sacrificed there always seemed to be more being born.

Architecture

The prison is mainly built of highly magic resistance material. The walls are super thick and there are bars and chains everywhere. It's built just outside the city limits.

History

The prison originally started out very small, and was intended to hold magic users for life, but as the magic levels continued to increase, more and more people were able to use magic, and the prison quickly filled up. To make more room, they began sacrificing the prisoners to their newly discovered god, and building additional wings to hold more prisoners.

Tourism

The 'Arcane Prison' is not a place one would want to willingly visit, for the only ones that go there typically end up scarified to a god that prohibits mortals from using magic.
