Additional Information
Social Structure
'Ant-Folk' live in strict matriarchies, with a single queen ruling hundreds to even thousands of her own brood. These colonies are divided into several different ranks, each with their own roles and tasks to keep the colony functioning. These ranks are the queen, advisors, warriors, task masters, and workers
Queen
The most important rank to the hive is the Queen, for without her their will be no more new members to the hive. As a result she is highly protected with he chambers located at the heart of the hive, and she is constantly tended by workers. Since she is unable to leave her chambers physically she will instead possess one of her children and use them to see and interact with affairs outside her chambers. The colony relies on her guidance for important decisions involving both the colony and the outside world.
Advisors
An advisors main role in the colony is to act as generals and diplomats for the queen. However they are also skilled fighters, and also act as the queen's personal body guards.
Task Masters
Often the ones that travel furthest from the hive, task master act as the colonies merchants and traders, and if needed, as it's spies and diplomats.
Warriors
From a young age warriors are trained to be the colony's protectors, and will often die an early death in defending the colony. When a warrior becomes to weak to preform their duties they either starve to death, or if they were especially skilled, become teachers for the next generation.
Workers
By far the most numerous of all the ranks, it is the workers that maintain the colony, from gathering food, growing food, mining, expanding the tunnels, cleaning, etc. While an individual is capable of doing any task, some prefer to specialize. For the most part workers will avoid fighting, leaving that to the warriors, but if a colony is especially desperate then they will fight. Because of how many there are, workers are not given individual names, instead being identified by their brood's name and a number.
Average Intelligence
Hive intelligence.
Civilization and Culture
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Due to their constant marches for food and highly territorial behavior, many other folk consider them to be very aggressive.
