Andera

Andera is a large continent, just east of its center is a mountain range that runs roughly NNE to SSW and is commonly referred to as the Spine. The five countries have enjoyed relative peace for a number of years now, their history heavy with the clashes of "cataclysmic" beings they've put a fair amount of effort to avoid unneeded violence.   The most important of these beings is the Dawn Dragon, a dragon God who formed the planet and all things within them. First he created the primordial titans who served him in creating the planet. Then his children the dragons, followed by the other races to serve his children and generally tend the planet. Eventually the dragons grew lazy and abusive of their wards, turning them to slaves and hording possessions as indications of power. Seeing the folly of their ways the great Dragon God elevated an Aasimar woman named Elbi to Godhood. She in turn raised others and sided with the titans, who were envious of their higher place their younger siblings possessed, to overthrow the dragons. Among which a queen, Taga, rose to power and lead the dragons in continuing their reign of fire and terror.   The ensuing war was long, and there were many losses, including the Dawn Dragon itself. Eventually the titans fled to lands currently unknown, leaving the gods to fight the dragons. In a decisive blow the dragon queen attacked their pantheon, turning every statue to rubble and blotting out every name she could find. The gods became nameless legends, their truths lost. But not before Elbi set in motion a plan. While Taga was away attacking the pantheon of the gods an agent of the gods.     With Taga gone the few dragons who had managed to survive by one means or another went into hiding. For a time there was unrest as the slaves turned warriors figured out their places in the world, but that was nearly 500 years ago and the world is at peace. But not for long. The Cult of the Scale now seeks to unleash Taga and her wrath upon the world. To burn it all to dust and start anew from the ash.   While it has happened from time to time in the past, descendants of the gods are awakening more and more now. The residual powers of the Dawn Dragon fuels both divine and magic powers that feel the changing of tides and has awakened to find new defenders for itself. Some are still alive from the past few centuries, more will be awakened. Taga must not rise lest the world become a sea of flame.
