Tamdaal
Unlike the name would suggest the history of Tamdaal is everything but tame. This city has been build in one of the many valleys within the Gril, the valley is called Woelewand after the terbulent weather conditions. It lays near the whisking gap, where most travellers skip the mountains and walk straight into Mesjogge. The strategic position of the valley makes it the perfect place for a city. The Woelewand however is not. Because of the hight winds that comes through the gap and the steep slopes are prone to landslides. Not often, the region can go for years or even decennia without a massive landslide.
History
Written history recorded that the city has been abonded at least two times before the current ruler took up recidence in the remains of what was a living city. Who the first settlers were is unknown. Only the foundations of this lost village have been found. 36 years ago the the people of Andeau came back after a period of at least 150 year of inoccupation. The previous inhabitants had left after the big slide, delving a lot of the city under meters of rock and dust. They took refuge in the next valley called Goedetrouw, hoping on a better future. When they migrated Andeau was still forming and hard borders where not yet set. A turbulent time began, robbers and violent groups crossed the gap spreading into the still forming country. Thats why eventually the people of Andeau took the risk and returned to to ruins of Tamdaal, rebuilding the city. The main function of Tamdaal is the protection of the border and provide shelter to those who travelled through the gap. They tried mitigate the risk for any future landslides but no permanent solution has been found yet. Leaving the people of Tamdaal always looking up to the slopes of Woelewaal.
