Lunar Isles

The Lunar isles can be found in the northwest of Andeau, it exist of the different isles: Lughy, Unghy, Naghy, Arghy and Reghy. It is the only group of isles on the Andeau Peninsula. To get to and from these isles you have to take a ferry that leaves from the furthest point on Uytrapeak. From there you have to travel from island to island if you want to reach Reghy, the last of the islands.

Eye on the tides

The reason you have to go from island to island is two-folded. The first and most important reason is the tides. When the low tide sets in, the sealevel gets so shallow that no boat can sail to the shore. Therefore you have to wait till the tide rises again. The other reason is strategic and pragmatic, the lesser ships that sail from land to shore the better, and because historical the island had mostly a defencive function. You don't need that many trips going back and forth.

Strategic location

Historical the island have a strategic function to defend the coast of Uytrapeak, but since the alliance of the eight quadrants, the defence of this part of the coast is not as important as it once was. However the foritifications are still in place. The first and the last islands (Lughy and Reghy) are most fortificated. The second island (Unghy), is the biggest and here live the most people in Ughy fortress. A fortified town. Mostly former soldiers with their families. There are a few families left who still have duty to defend the islands.

After the forming of the alliance, and with that the need of military precence declined, many families stayed on the islands. They started farming on the south/east side of the island, minding their own business.
The Lunar isles are named after the moon, controlling the tides and with that the accessibility of the islands.
