In an effort to unite the group of Humans in the North with his own army Yarri took a small force North to find Jarrak and ask him for his support.

Yarri left after a few weeks of rebuilding Yarrin, but the damage was substantial and scouts were reporting of Elves mobilising more attacks. Yarri left with a small group and sailed North, desperate for aid from the Northern group, who for the last 10 years had never been in contact with the South, for all Yarri knew they had all died in the cold of Winter, but Yarri suspected the tough and rugged Jarrak would have managed to get by.   After over a couple of weeks at sea they saw the settlement, a fairly small dock, with a cluster of boats and rafts. They heard shouting from the shore and saw men getting weapons, as Yarri took the ship towards the docks he shouted that they were friends, and called out for Jarrak. As they left the ship they were greeted by a large group of Northmen. As Yarri explained who he was and why they were here the fighters lowered their weapons and explained that Jarrak was at the newest settlement, Winthaven. Yarri was led along the coast by a Northern ship to the river mouth where the town could be seen.   Yarri entered Winthaven and was taken to Jarrak. Jarrak had been busy building strong roots in the North. They had learnt where to hunt, where to fish, and even discovered edible plants that survived the harsh winters. The North had grew rapidly, despite the cold. Yarri learned that the North had received another group of Humans, several thousand more had joined Jarrak since Yarri last saw him and helped setup several villages across the region.   Jarrak was no fool, the furthest south they had ventured was at the site of a fortified postion called The Nightfort, built atop a hill, with steep cliffs stopping approach from the woods to the south, and defensive terrain helping them defend. Yarri learned of a species called Centaurs who had been fighting with the Northmen. They lived in the woods known as Direwood. As well as the woods to the south of The Nightfort (later named Alcove Woods.   Jarrak learnt of the Elves, who so far had not met the Northmen, and decided to help, fearing of what would happen when the South fell and the Elves discovered more Humans. Yarri told of the Elves attacks and convinced Jarrak of how evil they were, but Jarrak was wary to leave the North. Yarri pleaded for his help and spoke of how despite their differences they must unite. After days of discussion and Yarri making the case for unity Jarrak accepted, he left his son in charge of the North until he returned.   Together they prepared to sail back towards Yarrin with around 5000 fighters, some using the very rafts that years before had brought them to the continent...
