Andara

Andara, meaning "treasure" in the old tongue. An expanse of continents and islands reaching out into the far corners of the known world. Legend says that an ancient race called the Titans built the world from nothing with the help of the dragons. Now it is home to many races, some civilised, some not so much...   Long ago the Elvish race had, through their intense link to magic, almost total control over The Central Continent. But after "The collapse" of the Elvish holy city Andlis-Harh and the Death of Magic, the recent arrivals - Humans, were able to defeat the Elves, several groups formed and spread across the other continents. Today, Humans and Elves have still not fully learnt to co-exist, but the arrival and discovery of new races and peoples have forced the humans to develop a more accepting approach, or for some, a more brutal and cruel one.   Discovery and exploration are the words of this age, new continents have been landed on this decade, kings, lords and the wealthy fund explorations into the vast unknown. While for many it is a time of fame, riches and excitement. Wars and poverty sweep areas of Andara and several groups and monarchs lead armies to seize power.   Races like the Dwarves, the Centaurs or the Tarfen, a minotaur like people, continue to live mostly in isolation, occasionally living near or in the settlements of the Humans to trade with them or the Elves.   Across the world magic continues to be present for some races like the Centaurs with the magic of the ancestors or the natives of Sildor and the Fire Isles with the practice of ancient, tribal magic.   Now, in a time of political and social change, civilisations across the world align for conflict as the most ancient of powers stirs in the depths of the known lands...
