Andlis-Harh

Once the greatest and most successful city in the world, and to this day the largest ever, Andlis-Harh was the Elvish holy city, with it's name roughly translating to "Home of the Holy". The Three sons founded this city and Oldtown nearby in the early days of the Elves, with the city lasting thousands of years until it saw a cataclysmic event...   Now the city sits in ruins and has been left empty for centuries. With Oldtown nearby being the only remnants of the once great Elvish region.

Demographics

Was almost all Elves, later in time some minor races like Dwarves for trade.

Government

Led at first by The Three sons, later by an elected Elvish Lord and council

Defences

The city was not well defended, as it was so large it had over 20 ways in and out, whether it be great silver gate or the smaller entrances. The main inner city was more defended, with traditional guard towers and archer posts, although that did little to stop the human attacks...

Industry & Trade

The main industries were those of luxury and magic. Gems sellers would bring their goods from the mountains and trade in the great halls of the capital. Silks were produced across the nearby regions and sold to Lord and the wealthy.   The relics found and restored were said to be from the Titans and they had great power.

Infrastructure

The city had great aqueducts running through its heart leading from huge 'water nets' that harnessed Elvish magic. The city was bustling with magical traders, blacksmiths, but the major produce was silks, gems and precious relics. They used to say the Titans had left behind their weapons and armour in these lands and the relics found still held some of their great power.

Guilds and Factions

Many Elvish guilds were present, from the weavers and craftsmen to the mages and brewers of a more arcane persuasion.

History

First founded by The Three sons the city grew and grew, alongside Oldtown. After the sons were killed the city entered a difficult period of choosing leadership but that came to an end when a group of Elves came up with the idea of an elected official who would appoint their own governors and advisers. The Elvish population supported the idea and the first Elvish Council was formed, with an Elvish Lord in charge. This idea spread across the land and led to the idea of Elvish government developing. Eventually it became designated the Elvish capital during the time of Jenjun and many flocked there to become part of the city, turning it into the great Elvish capital.   Towards the end of the Elvish Dynasty the humans arrived in the land and brought with them a desire for conquering and war. They constructed great siege machines that the elves had never seen before. The city was left weak after the Death of Magic began and the humans attacked, sacking the trading halls and pillaging. The humans left to group and fight at The Blazed Battleground and the remaining Elves began to rebuild, it was only then that the city was destroyed in unknown circumstances and left in burnt ruins. The Elves to this day blame the Humans for somehow causing this.

Architecture

Magnificent white marble and stone was all the eye could see, except for beautiful silver and gold lining the gates and inner walls. The streets were paved with cut stone and had statues at almost every intersection of roads.

Geography

Built on a coastal region, but protected from the sea by an island, the city enjoyed calm weather usually. The city had forests to the north and south and grassy plains to the east.

Natural Resources

Most of the early resources came from farming and animals, with the Elves later mining and collecting Titan Relics from the ground.
